The National Institute of Health in response to the increasing use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine has created the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM). Complementary and alternative medicine and healing modalities, such as those offered by Innovaetas, LLC, are intended to be used in conjunction with a doctor's care for greatest effect.
Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR) is a gentle, relaxing, and deeply effective treatment. It works to rehydrate the fascia, which runs in a continuous web throughout the body, by activating the energy potential within the tissues. Superficial fascia supports the body and houses the lymphatic system. When it has restrictions those are areas of dehydration that lead to defects in your immune system, restrict your movements, and causes pain. MFR is the only know treatment that can effectively reduce the restrictions.
Deep tissue or Swedish massage, which is more effective? Actually, when done right, they are both equally effective. But, what is the difference between deep tissue and deep pressure massage? Deep tissue strategically works through the layers of tissue encouraging them to balance and realign. Deep pressure just hurts! The primary objective of a good therapeutic massage is to activate the parasympathetic nervous system which returns the body to its restorative state. This naturally releases tension and pain.

Golf, one of the primary reasons that people come to Hilton Head! One of the most important things for your game is full range of motion. With the limited range of motion that comes from fascial adhesions the strength and fluidity of your back swing and follow through are reduced, as is the power to send the ball soring down the fairway. A blend of MFR and Therapeutic Massage works to bring the body into alignment to increase fluidity, strength, and range of motion. After a quick assessment of your postural alignment we'll create a treatment plan to get you out on the links! Enjoy this short article from TPI about Massage Therapy and Golf.

One of the most unique treatments offered at Innovaetas is the Fascia Facial. When surgeons perform a facelift they go under the skin to release it from the connective tissues, pull the skin taught, trim off the excess, and suture it down. This leads to a lengthy recovery time with pain, swelling, and scars. Why do they have to release the skin from the connective tissues? Because the wrinkles are not in the skin, they are in the connective tissues. During the Fascia Facial I will gently release the skin from the connective tissues, releasing it from the wrinkles below. This also helps to hydrate the skin from within. The treatment is painless and deeply relaxing, and creates lasting results. Clients often see results after the first treatment, but for best results 5 to 10, 30-minute sessions are recommended. This treatment can be done alone, or can be added to a 60 or 90-minute full-body treatment session.
